Two Legonaires Depart Deren FC for Homelands
It was announced today that Armenian forward David Ghandilyan has left Deren FC to return home following the 2017 MPL season. Ghandilyan joined Deren FC from Ararat Yereven in July 2017 and immediately scored in his debut. He played in every match of the second half of the season, scoring 4 league goals and adding another 3 in the FA Cup. Previously, he played for Homenetmen in Lebanon and several teams in his homeland including FC Pyunik and Shirak.
In addition to club football, the 24-year-old has represented Western Armenia in Non-FIFA international football. He appeared in the 2016 ConIFA World Cup, scoring six goals in a 12-0 victory over the Chagos Islands.
Two days earlier, the club also announced the departure of former Belgrade Lokomotiva goalkeeper Milos Rnic. The 24-year-old Serb has also decided to return home. During the 2017 MPL season, Rnic had one of the best goals against totals among goalkeepers in the league. He most notably had the highest save percentage among goalkeepers in the league with 82.3%.
